Formerly under the moniker, American Nightmare, the band was started in the suburban garages of the San Francisco Bay Area by guitarist/lead vocalist Anthony Buhagiar and drummer Jerry Rivera. After a few jumpstarts, the lineup was completed by the addition of bassist/vocalist Dave Vasquez. Canyon Creep spent the next year writing and performing their brand of high-energy rock and roll to packed crowds around the Bay Area.
The band began the new millennium by recording a new album entitled, "Hijack the World!". Produced and Engineered by Billy Anderson who has recorded such acts as Sleep, The Melvin's, Mr. Bungle, and High on Fire. The album features Canyon Creep in their purest form: Heavy, Raw, and Loud.
