Descending from the foothills region just North of Sacramento, BLED is known as a creator of Atmospheric Death/Black Metal fused with Thrash riffing. Perhaps because of the diverse musical/metal influences of Bled's members, they have been successful in creating intense Metal compositions with originality and technicality. Bled's drive to play extreme metal is fueled by their opinions of and opposition to the existing world order. This attitude which also provides their lyrical inspiration can be best stated directly by Bled:
"Our motivation for playing Death metal is that it is the only way we can creatively vent and express our frustration and even anger with the way things are going in the world around us - all the greed, and corruption, and fucked up shit that people do to other people and the environment and whatever."

History: Bled was formed in 2001 by Chris (guitar, vocals), Erik (drums), and Shon (guitar), following Chris and Erik's departure from a previous established northern California thrash/death metal band. Within 6-7 months the trio composed enough material to record a limited release DIY six song demo. After a number of well received gigs in the Sacramento area, Shon decided to leave the band due to other obligations.
Chris and Erik continued to explore new directions in technical death metal while seeking a bass player to fill the void left by Shon's departure. Despite the temporary two-piece status, Bled recorded new material with Chris picking up bass duties and embarked on a north-west mini-tour with The New Plague in July 2002.
Greg Amaral formerly of the Sacto Death-Grind band Holistic took up the sub-sonic duties in August 2002 and the band took a break from shows to focus on ironing-out the material.
Current Events: Bled has recently begun playing shows again and the new three-piece line-up has crushed at every occassion. Bled is now focusing on rehearsal for a new studio album to be recorded early in 2003.
