ELEGANTLY WASTED was formed in Hollywood, California in late 1998, and quickly recorded and independently released the EP “AMPED” under the name “Rock-n-Roll Soul” The group then went on to promote them selves around Southern California and also in Europe where they have done three tours to date.
They band soon built a following on the Los Angeles club circuit and earned a reputation of always putting on a great live show for their audience. “We love playing live and want to make sure nobody goes home disappointed after a show,” says guitarist Diana, who is also known as Queen D. “It doesn’t matter if there is fifty or five hundred people in the crowd, we try to be our best at every show”.
Their first full- length CD, an album entitled “GREETINGS FROM A STRANGE PLACE” was released and got great reviews in fanzines both in the U.S. and Europe. The band also changed their name to “ELEGANTLY WASTED” to better suit the more fresh musical direction of the band. Co-produced by Howard Karp and Lenny J, the album is a great representation of what this band is all about - Modern rock n’ roll with a classic rock attitude. Their music has been described as Foo Fighters and Guns n’ Roses meets The Black Crowes. Also noteworthy is a guest appearance on the album by Ryan Roxie (guitarist with Alice Cooper) who sings the second lead vocal on the cover of the T-Rex song “20th Century Boy.” This band is on a mission to bring back real rock music and have a blast doing it. “The fun has been missing in rock n’ roll for a long time and we want to bring the party back to the people,” says Lenny J.
